Ergon Energy Power Outage Today: Queensland Residents Check Outage Map and Restoration Updates

QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA — October 18, 2026 — Residents across regional Queensland who experience electricity interruptions can check Ergon Energy's official outage information for updates on affected areas, repair work, and estimated restoration times.

Ergon Energy operates the electricity distribution network across regional Queensland. Power outages can disrupt homes, businesses, telecommunications, and essential services, making timely information important for affected communities.

Ergon Energy Power Outage Map

Customers can use the official Ergon Energy Outage Finder to check whether an interruption has been reported in their suburb or surrounding area.

The outage service provides information about planned maintenance, unplanned outages, affected customers, and restoration estimates when available. Information is refreshed approximately every 15 minutes, although updates may be delayed during severe weather or other major incidents.

Residents can visit the Ergon Energy Outage Finder to search for their suburb and view current information.

What Causes Ergon Energy Power Outages?

Electricity interruptions can occur for several reasons, including damaged powerlines, equipment failures, fallen trees, vehicle accidents, strong winds, storms, and scheduled network maintenance.

When a fault occurs, crews investigate the affected infrastructure, identify the source of the problem, and carry out repairs before restoring electricity safely.

However, the specific cause of any outage affecting a Queensland community today must be confirmed through the utility's official updates.

How to Report a Power Outage

Customers who have lost electricity can report the problem directly to Ergon Energy.

The 24-hour power outage and supply problem hotline is 13 22 96. Customers can also use the official website to check existing reports and obtain restoration information.

If neighboring properties still have electricity, the problem may involve an individual connection or localized equipment fault. Reporting the interruption helps the utility investigate.

Never approach fallen powerlines. Stay at least 10 metres away and call emergency services on 000 or Ergon Energy's emergency number, 13 16 70, if a powerline is down or presents an immediate hazard.

When Will Electricity Be Restored?

Restoration depends on the extent of the damage, the number of affected customers, weather conditions, and the work needed to make the network safe.

Estimated restoration times may change as crews investigate and repair faults. Customers should continue checking the outage map for the latest information affecting their addresses.

Latest Update

Residents are encouraged to monitor the official outage tracker rather than rely on unverified social media posts. From September 28, 2026, Ergon Energy also introduced automatic SMS notifications to primary electricity account holders when power goes out and is restored.

This is a developing outage information report. Specific affected suburbs, customer totals, and restoration times should be added only when confirmed by Ergon Energy.
