Hydro One Power Outage Today: Ontario Customers Check Service Disruptions and Restoration Updates

ONTARIO, CANADA — Hydro One customers are checking electricity outage reports and restoration updates on Monday, October 19, 2026, as utility information highlights the importance of monitoring local service interruptions. The company's official Storm Centre listed 37 active outages affecting 1,978 customers as of its 5:48 p.m. update. These figures can change as new outages are reported and crews restore service.

Hydro One Outage Reports Across Ontario

Hydro One serves communities across Ontario, including rural areas and smaller municipalities. Power interruptions can affect homes, farms, businesses and essential services, making timely outage information important for residents planning their daily activities.

Outages may result from equipment faults, damaged power lines, fallen trees, severe weather or scheduled maintenance. The cause of each interruption varies, and customers should consult the official outage map for details specific to their location.

The current provincewide figures do not necessarily indicate a single widespread electrical grid failure. Individual outages may affect separate communities for unrelated reasons.

How to Check the Hydro One Outage Map

Customers can access the official Hydro One Storm Centre to view active outages, affected areas, crew status and estimated restoration times.

The interactive map allows users to search by street address or postal code. Customers can zoom into affected areas and select outage markers to view available incident details. The map typically updates every 10 minutes, although restoration estimates can change as crews assess damage.

Residents can also visit Hydro One's power outage and safety page for reporting options and emergency guidance.

Reporting an Outage and Receiving Alerts

Customers without electricity can report an interruption online, text OUT to 92887 (WATTS) or call Hydro One's outage and emergency line at 1-800-434-1235. The telephone line is available 24 hours a day.

Customers can register for text or email alerts to receive updates about outages affecting their property, including estimated restoration times and confirmation when service returns.

Safety Advice During Power Interruptions

Residents should keep phones charged, use flashlights where possible and leave refrigerators and freezers closed to preserve food. Sensitive electronics can be unplugged to reduce the risk of damage when electricity returns.

Anyone who sees a fallen power line should stay well away and contact emergency services or Hydro One. Never assume a damaged line is safe to approach.
