Idaho Power Outage Today: Latest Updates on Power Interruptions and Restoration

Idaho Power Outage Update – October 15, 2026

Residents across Idaho can monitor electricity interruptions through official utility outage maps as crews respond to service disruptions and work to maintain reliable power. As of October 15, outage-tracking information showed a relatively small number of customers without electricity statewide, including some customers served by Idaho Power. Conditions can change throughout the day as new reports are received and repairs are completed.

Idaho Power Outage Map and Current Status

Customers experiencing a power interruption can visit the official Idaho Power Outage Center to check reported outages and review available restoration information.

The outage map can display when an interruption began, the number of customers affected, the suspected cause, the current status, and an estimated restoration time when that information is available. However, outage information may take up to 10 minutes to appear, and incidents affecting fewer than 10 customers may not be displayed.

Because electricity providers serve different areas, not every outage in Idaho falls under Idaho Power. Customers should confirm which utility serves their address before reporting an interruption or checking restoration estimates.

What Causes Power Outages in Idaho?

Power interruptions can occur for several reasons, including severe weather, damaged electrical equipment, vehicle accidents, fallen trees, animals contacting power lines, fires, and scheduled maintenance. In some cases, utility crews may need to investigate before identifying the precise cause.

An outage affecting one home or street does not necessarily mean a widespread disruption is underway. Nearby properties can receive electricity through different circuits, meaning one household may lose power while another continues to have service.

How to Report an Idaho Power Outage

Customers served by Idaho Power can report an outage by calling 208-388-2323 or the toll-free number 1-800-488-6151. If an interruption lasts longer than 10 minutes and does not appear on the outage map, the company recommends contacting customer service directly.

Customers can also use the utility's mobile app and outage alerts to follow updates relevant to their homes or businesses. Estimated restoration times may change as technicians assess damage and complete repairs.

Safety Tips During an Outage

Residents should use flashlights or battery-powered lights, keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed, and unplug sensitive electronics when appropriate. Portable generators must be operated outdoors in well-ventilated areas and never connected to household wiring without properly installed transfer equipment.

Anyone who encounters a downed power line should remain at least 100 feet away and contact emergency services. Treat every fallen line as energized and dangerous.

Latest Idaho Power Outage Updates

Customers should continue checking official outage information for changes in service status and restoration estimates. Although current tracking indicated limited statewide interruptions, conditions may vary by location. Verified updates from the relevant utility remain the best source for determining whether an outage is affecting a specific community and when electricity may return.
